CHAT: What we learned from the special election in North Carolina's 9th congressional district

Friends,
I have just posted a new subscribers-only post on what happened in the special election in North Carolina’s ninth congressional district last night. I would be delighted for you to read it and comment below.
For those of you that aren’t subscribers, I’ve written down my three main points here.
Republicans are playing defense (again) for the 2020 congressional elections—and maybe the presidential contest, too.
Republicans are still suffering a harsh blood-letting in suburban areas of the country. Suburbanites are engaged and seemingly increasingly anti-Trump, though NC-09 is only one datum and the story in Charlotte may not be the story everywhere.
Trump's rallies seem to be hurting, not helping, him. As he continues to campaign across the country, will he just continue to activate his opponents?
The 9th was gerrymandered to favor Republican candidates. The Republican won by a comfortable margin. Some say Trump helped in Cumberland County; there's really no way to tell how the vote would have gone down without his visit. The only thing I took away from this Special Election is that it's another example of polarization by class. The Republicans know that and will continue to work to appeal to poor, rural, undereducated white voters. They have the numbers to keep the Republicans in power for another 4-8 years.
Democrats have become worthless STINKING yellow belly COWARDS who NEVER fight back when attacked by the damn republican bully bastards abd they FAIL to rally their base progressive voters to come out in large numbers to vote FOR their candidates and Allow SCUM BAG republican bully bastards to get away with holding HUGE RALLIES aimed at getting the HATE GROUP people to come out and vote in HUGE NUMBERS to vote for the DANN Republican!
What happened yesterday in the NORTH CAROLINA special election is a harbinger of more bad things in store for the COWARDLY "Democrats"
What that means is that in Novemver of 2020 the only things the COWARDLY "Democrats" will win is MORE STABS IN THE FACE and kicks in the crotch from the damn republican BULLY BASTARDS!
Well, I'm not impressed by the result. The 2017 Democratic margin in special elections averaged 16 points, while McCready beat the partisan level by about 10 points, and did quite a bit less well in the rural areas near Charlotte than he did in 2018. Obviously the Democrats need more than a special election to get them to the polls, but Republicans seemingly need no such motivation. It seems to me what you mainly see in NC 09 is an enthusiasm slippage among Democrats - and why could Barack Obama not be brought in to counteract Trump's rally? Where's the national leadership to help?
